Doth the winged life destroy
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in Eternity's sun rise"

    More Nachmanovitch:

Bricolage, a French word, “means making do with the material at hand; a bricoleur is a kind of jack-of-all trades or handyman who can fix anything. In popular movies, the power of bricolage is symbolized by the resourceful hero who saves the world with a Swiss army knife and a couple of clever tricks. The bricoleur is an artist of limits.

“We see bricolage in small children, who will incorporate anything into their play—whatever small piece of stuff is lying on he ground, whatever piece of information they picked up at breakfast. Dreams and myths work in the same way; in dreamtime we take whatever happened that day, bits and pieces of material and events, and transform them into the deep symbolism of our own personal mythology.

“These magical acts of creations are analogous to puling a large amount of rabbit from a small amount of hat. As in the greatest known form of magic, organic growth and evolution, the output is greater than the input. There is a net gain of information, complexity, and richness. Bricolage implies what mathematicians call ‘elegance,’ that is, such economy of statement that a single line of thought has a great many implications and outcomes. . .

“ . . . to a child’s imagination a twig is a man, a bridge a telescope. This transmutation through creative vision is the actual day-to-day realization of alchemy. In bricolage we take the ordinary materials in our hands and turn them into new living matter—the “green gold” of the alchemists. The fulcrum of the transformation is in mind-at-play, having nothing to gain and nothing to lose, working and playing around the limits and resistances of the tools we hold in our hands.

“ . . . The artistic attitude, which always involves a healthy attitude of bricolage, frees us to see the possibilities before us; then we can take an ordinary instrument and make it extraordinary.” (pp. 86-87)

Sounds good. I liked how you mused to the musings.
Please share and feel free to post excerpts here.
Responses and links and just general cultivation of 'improvisation as an aspect of community'.

        Thanks for responding.

thanks for your invittion to shre a little of it.... Just share a few excerpts..

I use "dance" as a metaphor for our journey in life... Dance has an energy about it, and is a contanst, fuid, moving... just like life is..
Dance inplies amor interactive... all elements of our actual joureny in life...

so enjoy.... the title of my chapter is "In Relation: the Dance of Connection":

<<To dance is a creation in movement. It is intentionality to commune, connect, and conspire in the expression of essence and being in relation. It is awareness and movement of the self within the fluid, living, interconnected life-context. To dance is to fling
open a door of communication and a portal of interplay between the inner self, the moving moment, and the outer world.>>

another: "improvisation IS b eing in the moement... and learning to *Play* with the moment in adventure, exploration...presence...

"At the age of forty, loving water and wind, I started sailing. I had never sailed before, but I was hungry for adventure. I wanted
to know more about myself, and so I adopted an explorer’s heart, which gave me room to just be in connection and learn. I started
first crewing on boats during races, and then went on to sailing a nineteen-foot sailboat solo. By just letting go of any preconceived
beliefs about myself and my skills as a woman sailing a large boat by myself (which I got a lot of comments on), I could just be in
connection with—melding, merging, gliding in a dance, as one with the water and the wind. I was exploring. Sometimes I celebrated the
dance by heading into the wind, lowering the sails, and watching the setting of the same sun seen all over the world. At the close of the day, I saw the same moon rise that all others can see. The boat’s name was, appropriately, “Windancer.”

and we learn more about who we are, and about the world.... in presence...

<<Letting go of our fears, self-doubts, and worries allows us to be more present for the unfolding. Our natural awe, wonder, and
innocence of exploration comes out to play. Work sessions become brainstorming sessions, a pirate ship that takes you into new
territories, new sights, new wonders; the world expands. A road trip includes stops along the way, just as a hike is an adventure down a
          new path. A career is heart-storming, life-storming co-creation.

When we dance, the connection is not about the past, but it embraces the past and propels us into explorations of the present.
We learn about ourselves, and we empower ourselves to create in the magic of synergy. And we learn about the other, our world, to which
we are connecting: “Teach me how to dance with you.” In my sailing, I let the wind, water, and boat teach me how to sail. Once I learned
how to dance with their dances, off we went, into new adventures and places. >>

          another:
...... <<within the art of allowing. We become playmates exploring oceans
and mountains. We continue to grow and uncover, discover about our
self in relation, and we do so until the day we die. >>

a yet one more i'll share...

<<If we allow ourselves to surrender into the exploration, then
we see, feel, know, and recognize with our “soul vine’s” eye, the
third charka, gut, or, as I call it “wisdom pouch.” We connect into
essence, the reverent, unfolding story of each other. The soul vine’s
eye connects us to the all and everything. It is our umbilical cord. It
is the site of intuition, our gut feelings. It is here that we “know” our
interconnectedness, our connection to that which created us, and to
          our divine reverent humanness.>>

all of what wrote very close to my heart..... tht last sentence though, one of my favorite....

..... as you named the tribe... , .... improvistioan as an aspecit of community.... that is...
